Day 91: The great wall market

Day 91: The great wall market
Unlike the small-usually-dark-and-hidden-in-the-narrow-street type of Chinese markets all over Europe, the ones in the US are quite on the opposite side. I figure that the main reason might be the population different of Chinese immigrants in these two places. Here in the US, there are far more Chinese than any place else (except of course China itself). The only thing that I prefer the European ones is that they are usually easily accessible by public transportation, not like here you need a car. But this applies to basically everything in the US, without a car, you can go nowhere. And who doesn't have a car, except someone like me staying only for a short term.

I had the chance to visit one of those stores in the neighborhood (my friend was so kind to drive me there) before the Chinese new year. To me, I was like in heaven. There were everything you could think of buying as a Chinese. I didn't feel any difference as I was in China, and the prices were perfectly acceptable too, unlike in Europe, where prices were usually 10 to 15 times higher than that of China. There were a lot of people on that day. Probably everyone was preparing for the new year's eve dinner. I bought a lot too, some of those I missed so much that I could not describe how gratitude I was to my friend who brought me there.
